Neuseenland 2/ New Lake Land 2, 2024
Vintage projector and drawing (ebru marbling, gold mineral pigment on dó paper)
Dimensions variable

This installation was my participation in ‘Ecologies of Water’ Exchange Program 2024 at LIA Leipzig International Art Program and in the group exhibition ‘SEEING DOUBLE’ at Galerie Archiv Massiv in Leipzig.

It is installed inside the archive room of the gallery, merging as if it belongs to their permanent historical display. However, such setting is contrasting to the work title ‘Neuseenland 2’, which indicates ‘New-lake-land 2’ - popularly referred to the area in the south of Leipzig where open-cast mines are being converted into a lake district.

The background of the drawing was created with ebru marbling technique that perhaps resembles brown coal mining traces. Its foreground was painted with golden mineral pigment in the shape of the Oloid motor - a device currently used in the Hainer Lake project with its promising invertible technology for renewable energy.
